Three materials, honestly described

We tell you what you're paying for. Some pairs are full leather, some are suede, some are a good faux suede at a lower price — the product card says which.

Suede

Soft nap, deep colour, moulds to the foot after a few wears. Keep a protector spray handy — we sell one for €9 and show you how to use it in store.

Smooth leather

Takes rain better than suede and polishes back to life. Our cognac and black leathers are lined in leather too, so feet stay cooler on long days.

Patent

A glossy finish that wipes clean with a damp cloth. It's the least breathable of the three, so we'd suggest it for evenings rather than all-day wear.

Start with one neutral. Then break the rule.

Most of our customers come in for a black or nude pair, and most leave with that plus something in a colour they didn't plan on. Burgundy and forest green behave like neutrals once you've worn them twice; royal blue and fuchsia are for the days you want to be noticed.

Our story

A small shop on the first floor of Eurovea

Obuvario shop opened in 2021 with forty pairs on two shelves and a fitting bench made from a reclaimed church pew. We're still a two-person team: Zuzana buys, Katarína fits, and both of us answer the phone.

We don't chase every trend. We order in small quantities from workshops in Portugal, Italy and Turkey, wear-test every new shape for a week, and drop anything that rubs. If a pair is on this page, one of us has walked to Petržalka and back in it.

Sizing

Measure once, order with confidence

  • Stand on a sheet of paper in the evening, trace your foot, and measure heel to longest toe in centimetres.
  • Pointed-toe pumps run slightly narrow: if you're between sizes, take the larger one.
  • Loafers and flats are true to size and soften after a few wears.
  • Not sure? Send us a photo of the tracing with a ruler and we'll suggest a size within a working day.

We ask every customer for feedback four weeks after delivery, once the shoes have been worn properly. These are a few replies, shared with permission.

The Nora pumps are the first 9 cm heel I've managed a full wedding in. The gold heel gets comments every time.

Questions we get asked most

Orders placed before 14:00 on a working day leave the same day. Packeta and GLS deliver within Slovakia in 1–3 working days; the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary take 2–4 days; the rest of the EU 4–7 days.

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to return unworn shoes in their original box for a refund or exchange. Try them on indoors on a carpet so the soles stay clean. Return postage within Slovakia is covered when you exchange for another size.

Of course — we're on the first floor of Eurovea in Bratislava, open daily. If you'd like a particular size held for you, call ahead and we'll keep it at the counter for two days.

Spray with a suede protector before first wear and let it dry overnight. Brush gently with a suede brush after wearing, and keep them away from radiators if they get wet. We sell a brush and spray set in store for €9.

We do. Add a note at checkout or mention it when you call, and we'll wrap the box in tissue and ribbon at no extra charge. Gift receipts are included so the recipient can exchange sizes easily.
